Thousands Gather for a Peaceful Rally in Skanderbeg Square Against the Gender Equality Law
Tirana, November 15 — On Saturday, in the heart of the capital, a large peaceful rally took place in Skanderbeg Square, organized by the Albanian Pro Life and Family Coalition. Hundreds of citizens, families, young people, representatives of religious communities, and civil society activists joined together to express their opposition to the newly approved “Gender Equality” law.
The rally unfolded with peaceful and civic messages, as participants held signs and banners defending the natural family, parental rights, and constitutional values. Organizers stated that this law, through the redefinition of gender and the promotion of gender identities that do not exist in nature, opens the door to serious social, legal, and cultural consequences.
During the event, several inspiring speeches were delivered by coalition representatives and activists, emphasizing that the Rule of Law must be protected and that any change affecting the structure of family and society must go through open public debate, conducted with transparency and with respect for the rights of parents and children.
The Albanian Pro Life and Family Coalition thanked all participants for their civility, calmness, and unity in this cause, stressing that this movement is not political, but a broad social reaction in defense of the family and the fundamental values of the Albanian people.
Organizers announced that they will continue with further institutional, legal, and civic steps, after the submission of an official request to the President of the Republic not to decree the law.
They are convinced to start a referendum and to bring the case in the Constitutional Court.
The rally ended peacefully, with a clear message: The Albanian people demand just laws, grounded in reality, science, and the values that keep the family and society strong.
